#CfP - 20th SPANISH CONFERENCE ON BYZANTINE STUDIES

The Spanish Society of Byzantine Studies (SEB in its Spanish acronym) announces the 20th Spanish Conference on Byzantine Studies, which will take place at the University of Valencia from June 4th to 7th, 2025. The deadline for submitting communications is 30th September 2024.

#CfP - Radicalism and its Uses in Late Roman/Byzantine History
Session for the Leeds International Medieval Congress, 7–10 July 2025.
Scholars of any career stage are welcome to propose a paper. To do so, please send a title and brief description of the paper, around 100 words in length, to matthew.hassall@liverpool.ac.uk by the end of Friday 20 September 2024.
#CfP - Studying East of Byzantium XI: Ritual
We invite all graduate students and recent PhDs working in the Christian East whose work considers, or hopes to consider, the theme of ritual in their own research to apply. The workshop will meet on November 18, 2024, February 14, 2025, and June 5–6, 2025, on Zoom. Those interested in attending should submit a C.V. and 200-word abstract through the East of Byzantium website no later than September 23, 2024.

Abstracts (no more than 500 words) for papers presenting original scholarship should be submitted for consideration no later than October 1, 2024.
#CfP - Epidemics: contacts and contagions, reactions and emotions, Naples, 04-06/06/25
A flyer describing the conference's ambitions and goals can be found here: https://www.academia.edu/122177429. The conference organizers welcome interdisciplinary approaches to the topic of epidemics before the era of modern bacteriology. Papers may be presented in English, Italian, Spanish or French.
The deadline for submission of abstracts is 1 November 2024. Notification of acceptance will be made by 15 January 2025.
Those wishing to participate can send a title and an abstract (500-800 words) by 1 November 2024 online via the submission form or by sending to following e-mail address: epidemie.napoli2025@isem.cnr.it.

Σωσμένα - Η παραγωγή του Cosmote TV τώρα στην ΕΡΤ
Μια πρωτότυπη σειρά ντοκιμαντέρ, που για πρώτη φορά στην Ελλάδα καταγράφει το ταξίδι της διάσωσης των αρχαίων κειμένων μέχρι σήμερα. Ένα ταξίδι εξερεύνησης γεμάτο περιπέτειες, ταξίδια, βιβλιοθήκες, αλλά και μεγάλες καταστροφές.
Ο Θοδωρής Παπακώστας, παρουσιαστής της σειράς, είναι αρχαιολόγος με ιδιαίτερη ματιά και γνώση πάνω στο θέμα. Μαζί του, ταξιδεύουμε παντού και μιλάμε με φιλόλογους, παλαιογράφους, και ιστορικούς.
